There are lots of languages lessons on CD now (I am presently using my daily commute time to learn a new language). Check you local library about the availability of language lessons on CD.
Start riding in a lot of Cabs in major cities
well it’s kinda hard not to spend any money the book i am using right now to learn swahili is teach-yourself-swahili it is a great book u should get it if no there are lots of ways u can learn on the internet like on swahili chat rooms and websites that can help u get started but u will probley have to spend some money if u want to learn the lang. hope u find wut u are looking for and good luck!!
Do a search to find as much free swahili resources as you can. But since "TIME IS MONEY" and you’ll have to spend time if you seriously intend to learn a new language, then I don’t think there is a way to learn swahili for absolutely free. You’ll just have to find the least expensive way ~_^
I agree with CheroChap. The easiest way to learn any language without spending money is to utilize the resources of the local library. When I wanted to learn Swahili, I actually borrowed a record (vinyl!) from the library. Since then, they’ve probably at least updated to cassettes if not CDs. You can also try finding a library with a Kiswahili/English dictionary.
If you can’t find something at your local library, try the InterLibrary Loan system, which will look for books/CDs/etc throughout the US or the world.
If that just doesn’t work for you, many of the half-price book stores carry a variety of dictionaries & language resources.
Good luck finding what you need. Kuongea Kiswahili nirahisi ukiweza kujifunza. Baraka njema.
find someone who speaks it. or go live in africa. my biology teacher is from here, but taught in africa a few years ago, and she speaks swahili
most library’s have language tapes
