I have a text recorded (in english) . and there is some word (something like Sentei) which means money in Uganda. Any ideas what word there really is?

Pesa is the usual word for money. But I think that your word means "cents", as East African shillings are divided into cents. In Swahili a cent is "senti".
Senti also means coin, so the word in your context is probably slang.
