This is the best going on line. http://mwanasimba.online.fr/E_index.html
The great thing about this language is that you don’t have to worry about pronunciation and intonation in the way you might with a more complex language, as it really is phonetic.
I have never used this and I don’t know if it comes in Swahili, but I would suggest trying the Rosetta Stone. It is a language program that is for your computer. Google it and see what is says.
Hope this helps. <3
Swahili is a "trade language", if you are interested in a "real" African language try Yoruba.
Rosetta Stone…the latest and greatest in learning a language.
google African languages and Swahili or east african langauges. Google Swahili language resources, maybe you can find dictioniaries. also look into the peacecorps they may list resources for learning langauges..try to meet a kenyan or ugandan person. start watching movies in Swahilli then you will be able to get an idea of how the words are pronounced.
I am currently using http://langmedia.fivecolleges.edu/swahili/elementary/index.html to learn Swahili and it is great.
You will have to buy 4 books for the course but it’s an actual college syllabus which covers Swahili I – IV online. There are accompanying videos, audio etc. etc and you can work at your own pace.
Rosetta Stone will NOT take you from 0 to fluency. It will, however, familiarize you with the language at a Swahili 1 level and it is fun to use but that’s about it.
Most of the free online sites will not take you very far either as they’re only meant to act as an introductory/Swahili 1 course or as a basic way to get by.
