<description>Check out my growing list of links for learning Swahili, currently numbering 22, including online courses, dictionaries and grammar guides.

http://del.icio.us/roamer/swahili

The sites I have found most useful are:
KIKO: http://www.africa.uga.edu/Kiswahili/doe/kikonini.html
Kamusi Project: http://www.kamusiproject.org/
U Penn: http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/plc/kiswahili/
Mwana Simba: http://mwanasimba.online.fr/E_index.html

You can always find somebody on the following site to swap language knowledge - you learn Swahili while teaching them English:
http://www.mylanguageexchange.com/

I am using these online resources in conjunction with this audio course and dictionary:
http://www.amazon.com/Swahili-Teach-Yourself-Joan-Russell/dp/0844237094
http://www.amazon.com/Swahili-English-English-Swahili-Practical-Dictionary-Hippocrene/dp/0781804809/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1213042130&amp;sr=1-1

<description>You could look into that Rosetta Stone computer program. I have a friend who&#039;s father used it to learn Portuguese and he learned it pretty fast and she said it was really easy for him to understand and work with. I&#039;d also read some customer reviews that aren&#039;t sponsored or connected to the company so you don&#039;t have to worry about getting a bias opinion.</description>
