Which language to learn, an African dialect Kiswahili (Swahili) or Mandarin Chineese.?
I am wanting to get into the import/export business when I retire, and am looking to supplement this by learning a second language. I am trying to figure out which will benefit my endeavors the most. What are the benefits of learning each culture?

Chinese, it is the most used language in import/export business I think.
Do both, the more you learn, the more successful you can be.
french.
most African countries either speak english or french as the official language.
only 2 countries speak portuguese.
PS: Chinese people speak Cantonese as the official language not Mandarine. the language has been abolished/outlawed and is only spoken in villages.
Hello
Swahili or Mandarin chinese will not help you at all. As another writer mentioned, French is a safe bet for the african countries. Depending on which country you want to do business in, you should find out what the home language of the country is, then do a crash course on the language. In south africa, (presuming that you are not from there) there are 11 official languages, english then is your safest language.
Good luck!
